Applesauce Cake
|
Preheat oven to 350. Cream together butter and sugars until smooth. Season applesauce with spices, adding to butter mixture. Gradually add combined flour, salt, and soda. Add raisins and mix. Turn into greased 8"x8"x2" pan. Bake for 45-50 minutes until cake tests done. (Insert a thin piece of metal, like a skewer, into the cake; if it comes out clean, the cake is done.) Turn out and cool on rack.

1/2 C. butter or margarine 1/2 C. granulated sugar 1/2 C. brown sugar 1 1/2 C. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. mace 1/2 tsp. ginger 1 3/4 C. unbleached flour 1 C. whole wheat flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1 C. seedless raisins
